What we build
Six kinds of building, and the work in each one is different
Sawatzky has never been a one-trade shop. Since 1954 the work has split fairly cleanly into six building types, and a bank does not get built the way a shop does. These are groupings of buildings that actually went up, not a menu.

01
Banks and financial
Bank work is unusually specific. The public side, the staff side and the secure side all have to work without getting in each other's way, and the building has to look permanent while it does it.
- Bank of Hydro, Weatherford, OK
- Legacy Bank, Weatherford, OK
- First National Bank, Weatherford, OK
- The Bank of the West, Thomas, OK

02
Churches and worship
Church projects are decided by committee, funded by giving and built around a congregation that never stops meeting. The construction has to fit that, not the other way around.
- First Christian Church, Hinton, OK
- First Baptist Church, Weatherford, OK
- First Baptist Church Addition, Weatherford, OK
- First United Methodist Church, Cheyenne, OK
- Church of Christ, Pauls Valley, OK

03
Civic and public
Public buildings are used harder than almost anything else and are judged over decades. They also usually have to stay open while they are being worked on.
- Western Plains Library System, Clinton, OK
- Crystal Beach Park, Woodward, OK

04
Retail and office
Commercial tenants measure a building in weeks to opening. The construction decisions that matter are the ones that affect when someone can start trading.
- Cates Retail, Del City, OK
- Jean Stevens Agency, Oklahoma City, OK

05
Energy and industrial
Industrial buildings have to work as workplaces before they look like anything. Access, spans and the office attached to the shop are the decisions that matter.
- Samson Resources, Elk City, OK
- Warrior Energy, Elk City, OK
- Diamond Services, Woodward, OK

06
Automotive
Dealerships are three operations in one building: a showroom that sells, a service drive that runs all day, and a parts and workshop area behind both.
- Elk City Honda, Elk City, OK
Not sure which of these your project is
Most projects are obvious and some are not. Call the Weatherford office and describe the building. A construction manager will tell you straight whether it is work Sawatzky should be doing.
